Chief Minister commends district administration for cyclone efforts
The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy along with some Ministers lauded Srikakulam District Collector Saurabh Gaur and SP Naveen Gulati for preventing human loss during Cyclone Phailin by taking up effective evaluation measures. During the review meeting held in Ichapuram after vising cyclone affected areas, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government's suggestion were followed at every level during the period of cyclone. Speaking to media, he said that the Collector lead the administration efficiently and prevented human loss and cattle loss with minute planning.

NPCIL to allocate Rs.200 crore compensation
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited in Srikakulam district will allocate Rs.200 crore for the compensation to the land owners of Kovvada and other four villages where NPCIL proposed to construct a mega nuclear project. Nearly 1,000 acres of private land is needed for the construction of the project and the estimate cost of Rs.1 lakh crore. NPCIL received a letter from the State Government for the compensation amount and it has been forwarded to the NPCIL headquarters in Mumbai and the corporation will deposit the amount with the State Government.
