Sri Kurmam Temple
The Sri Kurmam temple is located in Sri Kurmam village, 13 kilometres east of Srikakulam town. The temple was dedicated to Sri Kurmanatha, the second avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is built in the Orissan temple architecture style. The deity of Sri Kurmam is a large saligrama Kurmam (turtle). The head of the deity is in the form of a turtle and is represented by a Vishnu namam. The tail is a saligrama presented by Adi Sankaracharya.
There is a mandapam in front of the temple on Lion pillars. A unique feature of the temple is that it has Dhwajastambams both at the front and the back of the temple.
