Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju is a politician of the Congress party. He is the Minister for Forest, Environment, Science & Technology. Vijaya Rama Raju was elected MLA from the Pathapatnam(ST) constituency.

He was born on August 4, 1948 at Chinamerangi in Vizianagaram district. He is married to Sasikala Devi on June 28, 1973. Vijaya Rama Raju attended the Rajah College in Bobbili. He is an Agriculturist by profession.


Vijaya Rama Raju was first elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Janata Party ticket in the 1978-79 election. He later moved to Congress, Anna Telugu Desam, Telugu Desam Party, before finally re-joining the Congress party. Vijaya Rama Raju served as the Member of Parliament for Parvathipuram constituency three times - 1989, 1991 and 1998 on Telugu Desam Party ticket. He also represented the Parvathipuram assembly constituency in 2004.

He served as Minister for Transport and as Minister for Forests and Environment in YS Rajasekhara Reddy's government. He later continued to be a minister by holding the Forests portfolio in K Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy's governments.
