Srikakulam Post Office gets International Money Transfer Facility

The Main Post Office of Srikakulam joined the elite club of 4000 post offices in India to have International Money Transfer Facility. This allows relatives and friends from any part of the World to send money to their counterparts in Srikakulam instantly.

Tourists coming from abroad and Students who go to foreign countries for studies can also be benefited with these services. The Money Transfer service is aided by Western Union. When ever money is received, the person needs to show his identity of proof. The identity can be in the form of a driving license, PAN Card, Passport, Ration card or any proof given the Government.

Six persons hurt in accidents

August 28, 2004

Six persons were injured in two separate accidents in Srisailam on Saturday according to reports. Five persons traveling in a Maruti car were injured when a truck hit the car near Srisailam temple. In another incident a woman was seriously injured when was run over by a RTC bus.

Srikakulam politics getting hot with Municipal elections down the line

With the Municipal elections just about one month down the line and with the local elections due for the next year, political activity amongst the top political parties is getting hot. The Congress party has is serious about winning the elections and has began the work of motivating and enrolling members for the party.

Top cadres of the party have made it clear that preference will be given to the party members who enroll maximum membership. The district leadership is believing that this method is a fair practice so that members who are awaiting for party tickets will work for the party in a dedicated manner.
