2012 Narasannapeta By-election
The 2012 Narasannapeta By-election would be held in 2012 to elect the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Narasannapeta Constituency. The by-poll would be held along with the elections in 17 assembly constituencies in the State. The incumbent MLA Dharmana Krishna Das was disqualified after he defied the Congress party's whip by voting against the government in the no-confidence motion.

April 8, 2012: Simma Somibabu led a rally from Madapam to Narasannapeta for the first time after being chosen as the TDP candidate for the Narasannapeta by-election.
April 6, 2012: PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana kicked off the Congress election campaign for 2012 Narasannapeta By-election. The meeting was attended by Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, Minister Kolusu Partha Sarathi, Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju, Srikakulam MP Killi Krupa Rani.
March 27, 2012: Telugu Desam Party announces that Simma Somibabu will contest the by-poll on TDP ticket. The party clarified that TDP politburo member K Yerran Naidu's brother K Atchen Naidu would not contest.
